Student ratings of MCS Program Objectives based on surveys from the Spring 2005
semester:
Graduating Seniors (Spring 2005) were given a survey to complete. They were asked seven
questions based on program objectives for the MCS Program at UW-Whitewater. The scale was
1 (not at all), 2 (somewhat), 3 (partially), 4 (mostly) and 5 (completely). The percentage
of 4 and 5 ratings is below:
In answer to our survey question as to whether students felt qualified to be trained easily into an organization's technical environment, 95% gave the program a 4 or 5.
In answer to our survey question as to whether they had hands on experience with appropriate technology, 86% answered a 4 or 5.
In answer to our survey question regarding systems analysis and design skills for continued growth beyond the initial position, 86% mostly or completely agreed.
In answer to whether or not they felt they understood the business processes of an organization and the ability to fit technology to those processes, 86% answered mostly or completely.
In answer to the perception that they had a high level of adaptability to new technology and committment to continual learning, understanding the need for innovation, creativity and change, 91% answered mostly or completely.
In answer to their perception of group and individual communication skills, written, oral and presentation, using a variety of media; 96% answered mostly or completely.
