In 1984, AITP (then called DPMA) inaugurated a series of awards to honor
outstanding educational achievements in industry and academia. One of these
awards is presented annually to the top ranked four year computing degree in
North America as chosen by a select panel of academic and industry representatives.
Factors used by AITP in ranking programs for this award include:
* Curriculum Strength/Quality
* Faculty Quality/Performance
* Enrollment/Placement Achievements
* AITP Student Chapter Support
* Commitment to Information Systems Education
MCS won this award in its inaugural year of 1984 and again in 1986, 1991, 1994,
1997, 2000, 2003 and 2007. No other school has won this prestigious international honor more than three times.
The MCS Program has been named a University of Wisconsin Center of Excellence. To qualify for this
honor, a program must be nationally recognized as among the best in its field, make a substantial impact
on the economic or cultural development of the state, region and nation, and undergo a rigorous internal
and external evaluation process. |
